Orange County Weekend Event Guide

1. The District Celebrates Lunar New Year

The District at Tustin Legacy is set to host its second annual Lunar New Year event to kick off the Year of the Rat from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday Jan. 25th.

Highlights include:

  • Lucky red envelope giveaway (with a crisp $1 bill) to the first 500 people 
  • Lion dance performances from OC's premier troupe, Southern Wind Lion Dance at 12:15 P.M. and 1:15 P.M.
  • Taiko drummers at 12:45 P.M. and 1:45 P.M
  • Interactive photo opps with paper maché lion head props & roaming stilt walkers
  • Lunar New Year-themed kids' crafts & activities such as body glitter art and balloon creations

Event festivities will take place in The Promenade near Union Market Tustin.


2. Cars & Coffee 

January 24th

Cars & Coffee in San Clemente quickly became an institution with all automotive enthusiasts.  Why was it so successful?  The magic formula might be that it wasn’t an organized event, but rather a simple happening that grew organically.


3. Lunar New Year at Fashion Island

Join Fashion Island in celebrating Lunar New Year from January 25 - February 9 with a unique one-of-a-kind Year of the Rat interactive installation along with special promotions from retailers and restaurants. Be sure to check out the installation located at the Atrium Lawn by Hyde Park Jewelers and Vince for Instagram worthy moments.


4. Tet Festival in Costa Mesa

The Tết Festival of Southern California (Hoi Tet Sinh Vien) is recognized as the nation’s largest Vietnamese Lunar New Year Festival. Since 1982, the first UVSA Tết Festival started in Southern California. Since then, the Festival has significantly improved in many areas, a few of them are a better display of the Vietnamese culture and traditions, and more collaborations with the local community organizations


5.  Snowfest 2020

Come be a part of this annual winter event and hit the snow laden slopes at Pittsford Park! Grab the kids, the camera, and your friends and come play in the snow at this special event. Sleds and saucers will be available for you and your family to slide down Mount Pittsford.
