Every year, interior designers impatiently wait for the annual reveal of Pantone's new color of the year, and interior designers impatiently wait for new colors from the big paint companies. This "color reveals" push stylists and designers to break away from last year's trends, and look forward. These rollouts force designers to meticulously analyze global and societal trends from the runway, varying lifestyles, and demographics.

Consumer Reports just released a list of their predictions for the hottest paint colors of 2019, and we've chosen our favorites. Plus, we even included a "how to" use these colors in your home!


Benjamin Moore: Metropolitan AF-690

Why it's hot: Neutral colors can create a calm and sophisticated ambiance.

Where to use: Living room, sleek kitchen, sophisticated bedroom.

Where to buy: Select paint and hardware stores.

Clark+Kensington: Stainless Steel 37B-4

Why it's hot: This color is refreshing and light! It's an "inbetweener" for those who like light neutral tones, and those who like a little color!

Where to use: An accent wall, living room, or on furniture.

HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams: Reflecting Pool

Why it's hot: This shade of teal may seem quite vibrant, but it can be easily balanced with other neutral hues. This paint is best used in a modern style.

Where to use: Any room where you want some fun!

Bonus: This hue was named 2019 Color Of The Year by HGTV Home by Sherwin Williams.

Why it's hot: It's wild, it's crazy, and it's great for experimenting and adding brightness.
